My love of dogs began with the first dog that was “my own.” He was a Cocker Spaniel named Buddy and he was my world. I groomed him at home for a number of years but decided he deserved to look better than I was able to do for him at the time. I discovered Care-A-Lot Pet supply and saw they were hiring for a dog bather. It seemed perfect! I started with Care-A-Lot Pet Supply in 2006 as a dog bather. In 2008 I made the transition from bather to groomer and found my calling! After my training, Buddy was then the best-looking Cocker Spaniel around.
In 2012 I earned an associates’ degree in Business Administration from Tidewater Community College in an effort to find more ways to grow the business in the salon. We have since continued to win “Best of Virginia Beach” multiple years in a row!
There are so many things to love about being a dog groomer. I love grooming new puppies so that I can “show them the ropes” and make them feel comfortable since this is something they will have to do for the rest of their lives. I also enjoy taking extra special care of the seniors. When my dog Buddy began to hit the golden years, he needed a little extra attention and love during the grooming process. I know it can be difficult and scary for our senior babies, but I love making them feel and look brand new!
I am also a mom to 3 two-legged kids – 2 girls and a boy, and 2 four-legged kids – both Great Danes. My husband is in the Navy and we have been stationed here since 2006. We are originally from Wisconsin and find the weather here to be much more pleasant! Between my family, my dogs and my career, my life is filled with the most wonderful things!
