Even as a child, I knew that I was going to work with dogs. I asked my parents for every animal that could fit through our door. When I was finally old enough, I volunteered at a shelter before getting my first job at a Vet Clinic. It was during my time at the Vet Clinic that I decided to pursue grooming.
I then moved to Georgia to go to the International Academy of Pet Design and completed the 1,000-hour Grooming Course. During my time there I was able to work with many different breeds and grooming instructors. Since then I have never looked back.
In my first few years of grooming I completed my Associates Degree in Business just in case grooming didn’t work out. Well, it worked out and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been with Care-A-Lot Pet Supply since the summer of 2008. I love coming to work and looking at the dogs that have been scheduled and seeing so many fur babies that I have relationships with. Every day when I come to work I am so thankful that I get to do something that I feel so passionate about. You can never have a bad day when you see so many happy, friendly, adorable dogs.
One of my favorite moments is when one particular little pup comes in because he is always so happy to see me and does a cute little dance when I go to pick him up. In moments like these I can’t help but stop and play. All in all, I am so thankful that I have been able to follow my passion and have a job that I enjoy every day.
